response1.1.docx 100 word response 1 reference/intext citation Due 1/10/2025 Bet Post 1 Q1: “Reconstructing the past” intersects with investigative methods in more than one way, and particularly in the area of criminal investigations. The process of reconstructing the past involves accumulating pieces of evidence to put together and gain a better understanding of what took place previously. This process is crucial during the information gathering stage of all investigations. A potential complication of reconstructing the past can be the influencing of perspectives and biases of people working on the investigation. This influence can lead to misinterpretations or incorrect handling of evidence, which ultimately compromises the truth. However, a potential enhancement of the investigation is confirmation of a hypothesis, or a confirmation of evidence. By having a timeline to refer to, investigators can strengthen their case and positively confirm information that they otherwise may not have been able to firmly support. Scientists can also test hypotheses more effectively by reconstructing the past. Overall, the intersection of reconstructing the past with investigative methods highlights the necessity of this approach to gathering and interpreting evidence. It emphasizes the need for critical thinking and analytical skills. A really well known case that I have chosen to include is the unsolved case of Madeleine McCann in 2007. This is an example of when reconstructing the past can be a hindrance rather than a help during an investigation. After the child was abducted, the police began trying to reconstruct what happened that night but they received multiple unfounded theories and misinformation. And because of these conflicting witness statements and unfounded theories, it caused chaos and confusion.

Using the defined term's elements, explain why the term applies to the specific facts, analyze the facts, and determine the outcome. Support all responses with primary legal authoritative citations. You have some real concerns about your co-worker's treatment of offenders.  You hear him screaming obscenities at them in his office, and one time you saw him pat a female probationer on the rear end and say, "Be sweet to me and I'll keep you out of jail."  On the other hand, no one else seems to notice anything is wrong. Is there anything wrong? Did you misinterpret the exchange; should you do anything about this, if so, what? Make sure you include citations and references. Make sure you cite your research in proper APA format.

Law BRIEF: ROUGH DRAFT ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS

BRIEF: ROUGH DRAFT ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS OVERVIEW So far in this course, all assignments have focused on an objective view of the facts and cases. You have read and drafted case briefs that have objectively examined the facts and law of a case. Then, you drafted an objective, predictive office memo. Now, we are going to switch gears from being an objective observer to being an advocate. You will continue with the same cases with which you have been working for this assignment. Nothing about the law will be changing. The only change you will be making is switching from objective to persuasive...

In the United States, polygraph results are not universally accepted due to questions about their reliability and potential for prejudice. The decision often hinges on the presiding judge’s discretion, who must weigh the evidence’s probative value against its potential to mislead or confuse the jury. The Daubert standard, established by the Supreme Court in Daube...
