Use the following scenario to answer the questions below: Five social work students, four males and one female, decide that they want to learn more about the homeless. During Christmas Break, they plan to spend one week living “outside” in a homeless encampment consisting of about 100 people living in tents and small huts composed of discarded lumber. Some of the homeless consist of displaced families; others seem to experience mental health and substance abuse issues. Questions: Do the students have a good plan for understanding the homeless? Why or why not? What things should they take into consideration before putting this plan into operation?
