Psychology Verified Ph.D. Review

Maladaptive Perfectionism

Research Requirement:

1 One issue raised by reviewers concerned the fact that we only used one measure, the ECRS, to operationalize the attachment variable. Because the ECRS was developed on the basis of a factor analysis of existing measures of attachment (see Brennan et al., 1998), we felt that this measure adequately represented the nature of the construct. Indeed, it is very likely that items on any other measure of adult attachment would be redundant with items on this measure. Therefore, we did not feel it was necessary to use other measures of adult attachment in this investigation.

As we progress through different stages of cognitive development, our ability to acquire knowledge and understand complex concepts improves. Which has a direct impact on our academic performance and success. Cognitive transitions also affect social and emotional development. As individuals develop more advanced cognitive skills they become better equipped to navigate social interactions and understand others' emotions. These cognitive changes contribute...

DISCUSSION 335

Your readings in Allen (2016) this week introduced you to three more prominent neo-Freudians who have contributed to our understanding of personality development in different ways. Each of these theorists, Horney, Sullivan and Erickson further extended the work of Freud but in different ways.  Horney addresses the role of anxiety in development as well as the role of culture as a developmental influence. Sullivan focuses on interpersonal relations a a driving force in personality. It was his belief that our interactions with others determine our sense of security and self leading to dynamisms...

Nice start! The main point I'd like to clarify is the order of your data-checking steps. Before you run any normality tests on the pre–post difference scores, you must first examine the dataset for missing values and potential outliers, because both can distort the distribution and lead to inaccurate conclusions about whether normality is met. Even if you choose not to correct or remove outliers or missing data, you still need to identify and report them first; only after that step should you evaluate normality and decide whether the paired samples t-test or Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test is the mo...
