Psychology Verified Ph.D. Review

discussion:   Evaluate educational, intelligence,... | Psychology

Research Requirement:

Evaluate educational, intelligence, career, and personality psychological assessments by answering the following questions:  How do you define intelligence? Can it be measured? Explain your answer. If you believe intelligence cannot be measured, what would you say about the tests that are published to accomplish this purpose?  What are the similarities and differences between achievement and intelligence? How are the two assessed? Which assessment method do you prefer? Why?  In most cases, intelligence and achievement tests are used to diagnose learning disabilities and determine the need for accommodation in an academic or employment setting. If psychological tests were not used, how might one determine if someone requires accommodation? How would we answer this referral question without psychological tests?

attached resp22.docx Comment about this post: It was interesting to learn in this chapter that there were fewer behavioral issues and higher academic achievements from a two school model. I personally did not mind a three school model, but I didn't experience the two school model. The transition period in between schools no matter the grade or age will still always be a little uncomfortable. For me personally, I think the transition going into high school was a bit more overwhelming.

week 10 lecture

Many research psychologists have research teams they work with and some members of the team end up on the publications while others do not. For two months during summer, Ann conducted research as an undergraduate student at a well-known university. She was responsible for shocking them, as a test for pain tolerance, and euthanizing them at the end of the study. When the article was published months later, Ann was surprised to find her name was only included in a note of thanks. What do you thi...
